Khamzat Chimaev proved that his rise to fame was not just a fluke after dominating Li Jingliang at UFC 267. ‘Borz’ debuted in the UFC in 2020, and since then he’s been nothing but dominant. After winning his first three fights in the promotion spectacularly, he went up against a very game Li Jingliang.

The fight was sure to be his toughest test yet, however; it took him just 3 minutes and 16 seconds to put his opponent to sleep. At the start of the fight, he lifted his opponent up and walked across the octagon before taking him down.

The end was near for Jingliang after that, as the Swede manhandled him on the ground. While doing so, he constantly kept talking to UFC President Dana White. Chimaev slipped in a rear-naked choke, which put ‘The Leech’ to sleep.

Since then, his popularity has gone through the roof. His Instagram followers surpassed the following of the UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

With his latest performance, Chimaev proved that he’s not just hype. If he keeps dominating his opponents in the future as well, he won’t be too far off from a potential title fight.

Khamzat Chimaev wants the big fights

Borz‘ was pumped after his victory and wanted all the smoke. After dispatching Li Jingliang, in the post-fight press conference, he called out Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal as well.

In the presser, he said, “Hey Diaz, let’s go, brother. Let’s go. Gonna get some smoke… Let’s see who is the real gangster. Masvidal, he has fight, he has something bad, I don’t know, motherf**king belt something. I’m gonna take everything from the UFC brother. Now, I am UFC brother.”

However, ‘Gamebred‘ is currently scheduled to fight long-time rival Leon Edwards at UFC 269. Nate Diaz, on the other hand, has no fights as of now. He also has just one fight left on his UFC contract.
