UFC Star, Who Finally Met Dana White After 9 Years, Shares Personal Experience: “Easy Guy to Talk”

UFC lightweight fighter Beniel Dariush shared his experience of meeting Dana White in a recent interview with Submission Radio.’ The Iranian-American fighter boasts a record of 22 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw. He is also ranked 4th in the UFC lightweight rankings. Dariush was termed as the being one of the best prospects in grappling before he shifted his career to mixed martial arts.

The 33-year-old fighter made his UFC debut in January 2014 against Charlie Brenneman at UFC fight Night 35. He is a former medal holder in Jiu-jitsu and a gold medal holder in No-Gi Jiu-jitsu. He is a four-time UFC ‘Performance of the Night’ winner. Dariush also shares the record of the most wins in the history of UFC’s lightweight division with former MMA fighter Glieson Tibau.

Dariush is a talented fighter who earned his Jiu-jitsu black belt in just 5 years. He has spent nine years with UFC and believes that the UFC president, Dana White, should consider him the next contender for the lightweight title.

Beniel Dariush comments on meeting Dana White for the first time

During the interview with ‘Submission Radio,’ Beniel Dariush was asked about the instance he met up with Dana White to discuss the trajectory of his career. He said that he met Dana White that day and it was the first time that happened.

“So, met with Dana, Dana’s cool. you know, it was my first meeting with him, and like an actual one-on-one sit down in the nine years that I have been in the UFC,” said Dariush. He added, “Dana’s cool, easy guy to talk to. We went over stuff and seemed like they wanted me to fight Charles Oliveira. And I was like ‘great, let’s do it.”

‘Benny’ mentioned that he had informed the UFC that he would be ready for the fight around February or March 2023. But he hasn’t got back a word from the boss. Dariush said, “The timetable I gave them was February-March as ideal for me so that I could be ready by that time. But to be honest with you, I haven’t heard anything back since.”

The Iranian-born fighter believes that Charles Oliveira’s team might not have stepped up to talk about the possibility of the fight. Dariush had told the UFC that he is ready to fight either Oliveira or Dustin Poirier. He also claimed that he wanted to fight Islam Makhachev if the fight with Alexander Volskanovski wasn’t confirmed. Dariush has a great UFC record and many believe that it is a matter of time before get eventually gets a shot at the lightweight championship.
