UFC’s rising fighter, Arman Tsarukyan has expressed his wish to fight Michael Chandler. He claims that ‘Iron’ Chandler has the lowest fight IQ in the entire lightweight division. Tsarukyan has called out the one-time title challenger to see who belongs in the top 5 of the division. However, Michael Chandler has no interest in fighting the Georgian native. Tsarukyan has recorded 6 wins and 2 losses in his UFC stint so far. He won his last fight against Damir Ismagulov via a unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 216. Tsarukyan wants to fight a more experienced fighter now. Thus, he called out Michael Chandler to fight the new generation of MMA fighters.

However, Michael Chandler has downplayed Tsarukyan’s offer. ‘Iron’ is more focused on getting a match with Conor McGregor on the cards, who is rumored to return to the octagon this year. ‘The Notorious’ is yet to fight in the UFC since July 2021 after sustaining a severe knee injury in his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

Arman Tsarukyan blasts Michael Chandler after rejecting his offer

Michael Chandler recently made an appearance on Michael Bisping’s ‘Believe you Me’ podcast and explained why he rejected Tsarukyan’s proposal to fight. The fighter also claimed that he would have done the exact same things as Arman Tsarukyan and called out a bigger fighter. But he is more focused on getting a match with Conor McGregor. He said, “I’m over here talking about Conor and TUF. You think I’m worried about freaking Arman Tsarukyan with a silent T at the beginning of his name?” However, Arman Tsarukyan has hit right back at him.

Tsarukyan responded to Chandler’s comments and shared a post on Twitter. ‘Ahalkalakets’ believes that if he refuses to fight an up-and-coming fighter in the UFC, they should remove Chandler from the UFC rankings. He wrote: “Kick him [Chandler] out of the rankings then.” Tsarukyan also responded to a fan’s tweet on the same subject.
