UFC superstar Nate Diaz has called out a big name in the UFC’s welterweight division. The Stockton native is a massive draw for the UFC. However, he is on the verge of completing his assignment as a UFC fighter and has only one fight left on his current UFC contract.

The larger-than-life figure found the most notoriety when he fought and defeated the Irish superstar, Conor McGregor. Lately, Diaz was clamoring for a fight with the top UFC lightweight fighter Dustin Poirier. However, it looks like Diaz has moved past him and called for the UFC welterweight champion.

In a recent tweet, Diaz hinted at a showdown with ‘The Nigerian Nightmare‘ Kamaru Usman. The callout seems a bit absurd, as Diaz has not won a fight in the welterweight division since his win over Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 in 2019.

Nate Diaz got fans reacting to his tweets

The Cesar Gracie fighter got a variety of replies from the fans for calling out the pound-for-pound number fighter. Not only the fans but UFC featherweight fighter Sodiq Yusuff also gave a cheeky reply, suggesting Diaz is calling him out, as Yusuff also represents the Nigerian flag.

The callout of Usman frustrated some fans, and they pointed out the illogical matchup to the Stockton native and tweeted, “You’re not fighting usman lol.”

However, Diaz is a fan favorite. Though he could be outmatched against Usman, his fans still hope for their favorite fighter to beat the pound-for-pound number one fighter.

One fan took a dig at the potential next challenger for Kamaru Usman, Leon Edwards, and wrote, “Im down for Nate vs Usman. Leon can wait, he’s used to it.”
