Former UFC Ultimate Fighter winner Mike Trizano will finally return to competition later this year. Trizano was the winner of The Ultimate Fighter season 27. He has been out since suffering his first career loss to Grant Dawson in 2019.

He will welcome UFC debutant, Rafael Alves, to the organization. Alves is a former Titan FC lightweight champion. The Brazilian is currently on a roll, winning his last five bouts. He is Dana White’s Contender Series alumni, winning his fight there and earning the UFC contract subsequently.

Trizano, on the other hand, currently holds a professional record of 8-1. He has a notable win over Luis Pena from 2018. Although, that bout was at featherweight.

He has been on a nice long layoff since losing his undefeated professional record.

Alves, a 28 fight veteran, has a professional record of 19-9. He is well versed in all aspects, as out of his 14 finishes 7 are via TKO and 7 via submission. His win at the DWCS also came by the way of a Guillotine Choke.

The event is a UFC Fight Night card, which is scheduled to take place on February 20th.

UFC’s February 20th card will be headlined by Derrick Lewis

Derrick Lewis is rescheduled to face Curtis Blaydes in the main event of the February 20th card of the UFC Fight Night. The two heavyweights were previously scheduled for a November showdown last year but had to be scrapped after ‘Razor’ tested positive for COVID-19.

Apart from that, the likes of Drakkar Klose, Aleksei Oleinik, and more are part of the card. Also, Matt Brown will fight Carlos Condit in a clash of welterweight legends.

Trizano will be looking to use this opportunity to carry on upon the impressive start of his UFC career. He is a promising talent and at only 29 years of age, has the prime of his fighting days ahead.
