UFC 298 is almost here and Alexander Volkanovski is ready for his sixth title defense. At the UFC 298 presser, ‘Volk’ and his opponent, Ilia Topuria came face-to-face once again with Volkanovski assuring the world that he would be winning this next bout because of sheer experience. Dressed in his ‘old-man’ outfit, the champ also confirmed his intention regarding UFC 300, but that prompted Topuria to vow to stop him dead in his tracks.

‘The Great’ seemingly joked about going to UFC 300 and saving the main event since Dana White and Co. seemed like they were having some trouble arranging the big fight. Now, for the presser, with ‘Volk’ beefing with Topuria, his will to fight seems nowhere close to being exhausted.

Everyone witnessed Alexander Volkanovski accepting a fight at short notice against Islam Makhachev for UFC 294. He can do it again now for UFC 300. In a previous press conference, ‘The Great’ told reporters that not only would he defeat Topuria and headline Spain, but he was happy to headline the April pay-per-view as well. Now, he’s still sure of it all.

“Like I said, I plan on doing work this weekend and, I don’t know if they found something for UFC 300, maybe I can go and save the show there as well. I ain’t lying about that.” Volkanovski told reporters moments ago during the UFC 298 presser to which Topuria responded, “For the UFC 300 you gonna still being in the hospital, be recovering, trust me.”

Clearly, the bad blood between the two continues, though it often seems more serious at the end of ‘El Matador’ who happens to have much to “prove” in the world of MMA. Or at least that’s what Dana White has to say about him.

Recently, Topuria called out an out-of-action Conor McGregor and of course, Dana White had things to say about it all. The German-born Georgian fighter has a lot to say, but does he boast enough experience to carry it forward? For Dana White, that may not be the case.

White on McGregor vs. Topuria

Conor McGregor became the featherweight champion of the UFC after defeating Jose Aldo with a brilliant first-round finish. Topuria told Fight Hub TV that he could fight ‘The Notorious‘ without a weight limit and that McGregor hasn’t defeated anyone in years.

In response to that, UFC head honcho Dana White came to the defense of the Irishman. In a conversation with Kevil Iole, White approved of Topuria’s surging confidence in the division, but also noted that he had a lot to do before he could fight someone like McGregor.

Because ‘The Notorious’ has fought and defeated many big-name fighters, the same cannot be said for ‘El Matador’ who is relatively younger in the UFC. “This is going to be his first one,” White said about Topuria’s big-fight experience as he prepared for Volkanovski.
