The dust of UFC 287 has yet to settle. Fans and MMA fighters are still talking about the glorious victory Israel Adesanya achieved over his longtime rival, Alex Pereira. ‘Poatan’ and ‘The Last Stylebender’ locked horns for the middleweight belt. In the bout, Adesanya was successful in knocking out Pereira in the second round. Both Adesanya and Pereira have come face to face three times before, twice in kickboxing matches. All three times, Pereira was the victor. However, when the rivals met for the fourth time, the game totally changed. Izzy finally had his revenge against the mighty ‘Poatan’.

After winning the middleweight title back from Pereira, Adesanya’s happiness knew no bounds. Pereira lost the ground and fell down; he was light out, and this was the moment of celebration for the Nigerian fighter. He mimicked shooting arrows at Pereira, who was lying on the ground. Soon afterward, Adesanya’s eyes started searching for someone in the audience. When he finally found Pereira’s son, he theatrically dropped to the floor and acted dead. Paulo Costa was having a conversation with MMA Hour’s Ariel Helwani. Costa is famous for trolling his fellow MMA fighters and when asked about Adesanya aiming at Pereira’s kid, ‘Borrachinha’ detailed his take on the matter. As a reply to the question ‘Borrachinha’ said, “I think one more round if Alex was more you know not very I think Alex feel the energy, feel uh the emotion and try to finish that fight.”

He continued, “But he showed uh wait I will beat for the next round maybe in the next round he could finish the fight because Adesanya’s leg was confirmative, was injured already but either way I just doesn’t like the way Adesanya do, did some jazz for the kid, for Alex’s kid.From Costa’s words, it is clear he was against the way Adesanya celebrated his victory.

There won’t be a trilogy bout between ‘Poatan’ and ‘The Last Stylebender’

Many people believed that the two rivals might come face-to-face once again after the bout between Adesanya and Pereira came to an end. However, ‘The Last Stylebender’ made it clear that he doesn’t want to fight the Brazilian fighter again and sealed their rivalry once and for all.

When asked about the same, the UFC president, Dana White, said that Pereira is a monster and suggested that he might move up to middleweight while Adesanya can take up more fights as the middleweight champion.
