Israel Adesanya vs. Dricus Du Plessis on the cards?

‘The Stylebender’ lost to Sean Strickland last year on UFC 293 and this marked the ending of his days as the champion of the middleweight division. Dramatic enough? Adesanya has roared that he will be coming back to the octagon sooner than expected and his latest story on his Instagram handle indicates something related to the UFC 300.

UFC fighter and insider Michael Chiesa has stated that preparations are going on for a fight between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis. While having a conversation with ESPN, Chiesa said ” I don’t know, all I know is that graphic. I thought that was Jared Cannonier for a second. I was like, is he rematching Jared Cannonier? Is that what’s happening? Look for me, I would like to see him fight Dricus Du Plessis, and I have the same agent as Dricus Du Plessis.

He further added ” I think they’re trying to make it happen. You know, he does have a compromised leg from the fight and, maybe working on a new contract. But for me as a fan, I would like to see him fight Dricus Du Plessis. I love the fights with Alex Pereira, but let’s see something else. I’d like to see Alex Pereira maybe fight Jamahal Hill down the road, which could potentially be happening.”

Chiesa believes that a fight between Adesanya and Du Plessis is more possible rather than a fight between Pereira and Du Plessis. Nonetheless, Adesanya has already dropped a massive bombshell about his return.

Adesanya’s ‘300’ revelations

Amid the commotion, multiple fighters have expressed their willingness to fight at the event. To add more confusion to the speculations, Adesanya has teased his comeback.
