There are certain victories that define a fighter’s career, and fans may have just witnessed one of those moments at UFC Vegas 106. Brazilian featherweight Melquizael Costa, along with his opponent Julian Erosa, wowed fans with a ‘Fight of the Night’ performance with a 3-round war at the Apex. But guess what? That’s not what fans are talking about across social media.

The aforementioned featherweight duo really brought the fight to each other. It was a pivotal outing for both Costa and Erosa, and their scrap was one of the best ones in 2025 so far. While ‘Melk Cauthy’ won, it wasn’t without adversity. The 28-year-old was injured a few minutes into the fight as his foot looked really bruised and battered.

Following the end of the first round, it appeared that Melquizael Costa suffered lacerations on his toes, and it looked really painful. The cameraman broadcasting the Fight Night decided to zoom in on the feet to show the viewers how bad the injury was. However, it seemed to annoy Costa as he waved off the cameraman, asking him to get out of the Octagon. He kept his composure and went on to secure a fourth victory in a row via a unanimous decision.

The brief interaction caught the fans off guard, prompting them to share some hilarious reactions which turned a serious moment into a light-hearted one. Let’s take a look at what the UFC fandom had to say.

Fans can’t get enough of Melquizael Costa’s unusual moment at UFC Vegas 106

The world of content is constantly developing into diverse formats, with the internet giving every fan something to engage with. Funny enough, there’s a new trend where people are paying money to watch content related to feet. On that note, fans are calling for the UFC cameraman to pay Melquizael Costa before showing his feet to the whole world. “Said buddy, you’re gonna have to pay for those,” said the fan on X.

Meanwhile, some fans didn’t seem to comprehend the reason behind the cameraman panning the camera at ‘Melk Cauthy’s feet. “Lmao why,” said one fan, even though the cameraman appeared to just want to let viewers know about Melquizael Costa’s injury, as another added, “Hahahahha cameraman are weird dude.”

As we’ve mentioned about the existence of feet-related content, an X user believed that the UFC ‘secretly’ makes similar content on social media as well. “Cameraman secretly working as one of the admins of UFCfeet,” that fan added, which is a pretty bizarre statement. The hilarious jibes at the cameraman kept coming in as a fan likened the UFC broadcast crew member to a former 2-time Academy Award winner. “[Quentin] Tarantino behind the camera.”

Well, that’s kind of a stretch since movies and combat sports are worlds apart. And guess what? We’d never find the ‘Django Unchained’ director anywhere near a UFC event, who’s never been seen attending one since the inception of the promotion, let alone handle the camera.

Meanwhile, some fans put themselves in Melquizael Costa’s shoes, claiming that they’d have done the same thing and asked the cameraman to leave. He was focusing on the fight, after all, and maybe that could act as a distraction. “I mean it’s irritating having the camera in your face close like that smh.”

Thereafter, one fan decided to take a jibe at Khabib Nurmagomedov, which may have been uncalled for. Despite ‘The Eagle’ completing his MMA career with an undefeated 29-0 record, he hasn’t earned this fan’s respect, claiming that the Costa vs Julian Erosa fight delivered more than he did in his entire career. “This fight was more entertaining than Khabib’s career,” that fan commented.

Well, Khabib may have some fans questioning his record since he’s recorded mostly decision wins, and has even been called out for stat-padding as well. Well, how did you find this Melquizael Costa incident at UFC Vegas 106? Drop your comments below.
