An exciting fight at UFC Vegas 46 is the flyweight fight between Brandon Royval vs. Rogerio Bontorin.

Brandon Royval is currently ranked 5 in the flyweight division. He is considered one of the most exciting fighters in the division and has lived up to that. ‘Raw Dawg’ made his UFC debut in May 2020 against an always challenging Tim Elliott. He made Elliott submit in the second round and announced himself in the UFC. For his next fight, he took on Kai-Kara France. The fight was looked at as a banger and it delivered. Royval won the fight with another second-round submission.

With the win over France, he had won four fights in a row, with two of them coming into the UFC. However, since then he has lost two consecutive fights. He will look to get back to winning ways and push for a title fight.

Rogerio Bontorin is a Dana White’s Contender Series alumni. He entered the tournament with a 13-1-1 record and put his opponent to sleep in the second round. The Brazilian went on a two-fight win streak in the UFC but succumbed to two back-to-back losses. Bontorin came back from the losses with an impressive win at UFC 262 against Matt Schnell. If he is able to beat Royval, he will be within shouting distance from a title fight.

Royval also has a 100 percent takedown defense and will have a one-inch reach advantage in the fight.

Bontorin would know how dangerous Royval is and will look to endure his initial onslaught. The Brazilian will have opportunities to take his opponent down and would need to capitalize on them. ‘Raw Dawg’ lost his last fight via submission after he gave up his back. Bontorin also lands 53 percent significant strikes and would want to set up his takedowns with them.
