The Brazilian fighter, who had beaten the likes of Marvin Vettori, who incidentally is fighting in UFC 286, apologized with a statement on his Instagram after a clip of him getting intimate on a reality show was slammed by fans. The video clip showed Antônio Carlos Júnior in an intimate position with a lady, confirmed to be Dania Mendez, an influencer. Some reports suggest that the lady in question was intoxicated and, hence, this created quite a ruckus in Brazil.

Following criticism from fans, the former UFC fighter’s PR team came out with a statement on his official Instagram. ‘Shoe’ or ‘Shoe Face’ as he is popularly known amongst his fans, sent his heartfelt apologies to Mendez and her family as well.

“We know that certain attitudes cannot happen even as a joke. Therefore, we offer our sincerest apologies to Dania and his family for the events of the morning. When you leave home and see these images, ‘ Shoe ’ will need to understand what happened, review behaviors, apologize, and learn that there are limits that cannot be exceeded.” the post wrote.

Who is Antônio Carlos Júnior ?

Carlos Junior is a light heavyweight fighter who competes in the Professional Fighters League (PFL). The 32-year-old is quite well known for his time in the UFC. And more recently for winning the light heavyweight tournament in PFL, where he secured a million dollars as the prize money. A grappling-heavy fighter, ‘Shoe Face’ has a total of 11 submission wins in his career.

Out of his 15 wins, the Brazilian also has a victory over UFC’s Marvin Vettori, who is currently a contender in the middleweight division of the promotion.
