In a thrilling welterweight clash at the UFC Vegas 85, Themba Gorimbo defeated Pete Rodriguez with a lightning-fast knockout. Gorimbo was as fast as Flash when it came to knocking out his opponent. ‘The Answer’ threw a lightning-fast right hand and countered Rodriguez’s left thus dropping him to the canvas and what followed was ground-and-pound, prompting the ref to call the TKO in the first round.

After the fight in a post-match interview, Gorimbo roared that he wants the gold now and 2024 will be the year of his championship reign “It’s not going to be a clear pathway where I fight through the rankings – I don’t have to do that. When I look at it I have a big platform” He further called out Shavkat Rakhmonov and Leon Edwards “It will be Leon or Rakhmonov”
