However, in case Covington does not agree to the fight, Burns and Chimaev have made plans of their own. On Twitter, both the fighters agreed to a five-round rematch if ‘Chaos’ does not agree to fight Chimaev.
Gilbert Burns tweeted, “If call the cops don’t show up you know who to call @KChimaev 5 rounds”.
In return, Khamzat replied, “In 5 rounds I will take your soul see you soon boy”.

Burns and Chimaev’s UFC 273 fight witnessed a stunning three-round brawl. Because of how close the fight was, many fans would love to see them clash once again for five rounds.
Chimaev was seen as an extremely dominant fighter in his previous fights. However, during his fight against Burns, the Russian-born fighter wasn’t able to assert the same level of dominance.
The fighter was also known to barely get hit in the octagon. But during his UFC 273 fight, spectators witnessed a different tune altogether. Hence, watching Burns and Chimaev battle for five rounds would be incredible.

With a unanimous decision win over ‘Durinho’, Chimaev has entered the topmost ranks of the division. Hence, him fighting Covington next makes sense. It would be interesting to see whether Covington agrees to this fight. After all, the American fighter wanted to face someone ranked.

Khamzat Chimaev: Where does he stand in UFC’s welterweight division?
Before fighting Burns, ‘Borz’ stood at rank 11 in the division. As a result of his win, he has climbed up to the third rank; quite close to Colby Covington, who occupies the first rank. Thus, a fight between them would be very exciting considering the fact that Covington is a celebrated welterweight and Chimaev is the hottest prospect in the division.

In addition to this, UFC President Dana White even compared the Swedish fighter’s rise to that of Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey. If the Covington versus Chimaev fight takes place in the near future, it would surely be a huge one.
