UFC veteran Sam Alvey is one of the most experienced fighters on the UFC roster. The fighter has had 52 fights on his professional fight record and has won 33 of them. Alvey made his UFC debut back in 2014, all the way back at UFC Fight Night 47.

Even though Sam didn’t win his debut fight, he went on to have many incredible wins after that. However, in recent years, Alvey has had no luck with winning fights. The last time Alvey tasted victory was in 2018 against Gian Villante at UFC Fight Night 131. Ever since then, he’s lost 7 of his last 8 bouts, out of which one was a draw.

Most fighters in Alvey’s place would be cut from the UFC. However, the promotion has been extremely kind to the UFC veteran, Sam Alvey, and has decided to let him fight out his contract. He revealed on his YouTube channel:

He said,” The UFC called said, Sam, how’s it going?… So your last couple of fights, they’ve been great. But we’ve not won. You’re in a bit of a string of bad luck. I said yeah I’ve I realized.”

Alvey continued,” he said,’ no Sam, this is a sport where nobody is happy. Nobody’s ever happy in this sport except for that moment they win… You say yes to every fight… You’ve never said no. And then you show up and you’re happy to be there, you treat everyone well and we’ve decided that we’re going to let you fight out your contract.”

“I’m not cut! I get at least one more fight with the UFC. My contract has one more fight. UFC didn’t cut me!… I’m freaking out a little bit, trying to keep it together… I managed to sputter out, ‘thank you’,” he added.
