Strickland is one of the most popular fighters in the promotion right now and was in for a tough fight. Entering the bout, he was on a five-fight win streak and was the favorite to get the win.

The fight didn’t turn out to be the dog fight everyone expected, as both fighters had a strategic approach. However, Strickland kept his composure throughout the bout and came out on top.

Many believe this fight had title implications and with the win, he’ll be, according to many, the next in line. Israel Adesanya is the current UFC middleweight champion and will defend his title at UFC 271. A fight between Strickland and the champion, whether it is Whittaker or Adesanya, will be interesting.

The main event at UFC Fight Night 200 had the MMA community buzzing. It was a fight between two completely different personalities and fighting styles. However, that wasn’t the case, as it became a standup battle. ‘The Joker‘ had his earlier takedown attempts stuffed, and that worked out for ‘Tarzan‘ perfectly.

The world reacts to Sean Strickland vs. Jack Hermansson

Fight fans around the world were excited for Hermansson vs Strickland, but most of them were disappointed at the end. Both men were conservative and the fight, according to many, was boring.

UFC lightweight Michael Chandler was unhappy and said, “Way too conservative for my liking… I need SS to go full Chainsaw Massacre the last minute at least.”

Sean Sheehan didn’t hold his words back and said, “Strickland ends a boring, safe decision win in the UFC’s sh**tiest division by calling Hermansson a pu**y. Great stuff.”

Bloody Elbow doesn’t think this fight is worth a revisit.

According to Damon Martin, Strickland didn’t show his killer instinct until the very end of the fight.

However, Strickland gave a typical post-fight interview and the UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, seemed to love it.

The fight mainly disappointed everyone. However, Strickland has now won six fights in a row and is one of the favorites to challenge for the title next. He wouldn’t be too concerned about how the fight went as he got the W and will move up in the division.
