Shavkat Rakhmonov has been touted as a future star owing to his undefeated record and dominant wins. Talks of other welterweights ducking him have only added to Rakhmonov’s image of being one of the top welterweights. Also recently news of Rakhmonov’s fight with Geoff Neal getting rebooked has broken out. Following this, a clip of Rakhmonov celebrating with Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov after a fight started doing the rounds of social media.

In the clip posted by Spinnin Backfist on Twitter, Rakhmanov was seen submitting his opponent with a triangle choke. Following the win, the clip showed him hugging Nurmagomedov who was also present in his corner.

While some fans expressed their surprise, the majority of them mentioned how this partnership meant Rakhmanov would eventually become a UFC champ.

One guy even compared the older Nurmagomedov’s legacy to that of his son.

The reactions got more interesting as comparisons between Rakhmanov and Khamzat Chimaev were eventually made.

Abdulmanap’s involvement with Rakhmonov has definitely got fans talking about the 28-year-old’s future in the sport. Add to that, Rakhmonov’s undefeated record leaves no doubt that he is a possible future champ.

Shavkat Rakhmonov open to training in AKA with Khabib’s team

With a history of training under Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, undoubtedly fans would be curious about Rakhmonov’s opinion on joining Khabib’s team. On an earlier occasion, the Kazakh fighter did express his interest in training at AKA in the future.

“I haven’t thought about it yet, Maybe in the future, if the opportunity presents itself. I’d be very interested in training with them. They have a very good school.” were his words.

Would he eventually face the current champ Leon Edwards or a certain Russian, only time can tell.
