At 35 years old, Dustin Poirier is left with very limited opportunities to win the lightweight title. However, his last performance at UFC 299 showed no sign of him slowing down. ‘The Diamond’ showed his interest in facing Islam Makhachev after his win.

The champion did respond to the claim but also pointed out the lack of opponents in the division because of UFC 300. When Dustin Poirier decided to take on BSD at UFC 299, many felt this was the end for the veteran fighter. However, Poirier proved everyone wrong after he knocked him out in the second round. Before his fight, Joe Rogan took to his famous JRE podcast to share his opinion on ‘The Diamond’. He pointed out one of the biggest strengths of the former interim champion during the podcast.
