Brandon Moreno will step into the octagon at UFC 270 to defend his UFC flyweight title. He will go up against Deiveson Figueiredo in a trilogy fight. Both men last fought at UFC 263, a fight which Moreno won in the third round via submission.

In the buildup to the fight, Figueiredo shifted his camp to America to train with Henry Cejudo. ‘Triple C’ is a former two-division UFC champion and a former training partner of Brandon Moreno. ‘The Assassin Baby‘ recently gave his take on how he felt about his rival training with his former training partner.

“I was too sad at first, but right now I don’t care,” Moreno said. “I need to focus on Figueiredo, this guy is a robot, he doesn’t have a personal opinion or much brain, but he’s a real fighter.”

Cejudo is not just training ‘Deus da Guerra‘ but is also helping former UFC women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili prepare for her rematch against Rose Namajunas.

A future matchup between Brandon Moreno and Henry Cejudo?

According to Cejudo, Moreno betrayed him even though he has only helped the current flyweight champion in his career. While Cejudo was preparing to fight Demetrious Johnson at UFC 197, Moreno was his main training partner. Cejudo, according to him, also helped ‘The Assassin Baby’ get on ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ The bad blood started when Moreno, in the buildup to the Henry Cejudo vs. Joseph Benavidez fight, went to the training camp of Benavidez.

Many believe that the former Olympic gold medalist may be trying to buildup a fight against his former training partner. When asked about what he thinks about that, Moreno said, “That’s even more sad. Poor Henry Cejudo, using people to make more money (on a fight) against an old friend.”

His opponent Figueiredo also talked about the upcoming fight and said that he’s gonna take Moreno’s head off. He also said that he betrayed Henry Cejudo by helping out another guy.

Whatever Cejudo’s intentions might be, Brandon Moreno can’t look past Figueiredo. The Brazilian fighter has only lost twice in his pro-MMA career and is a formidable fighter. After being handed a loss in his previous fight, he will look to stop Moreno’s title run. Training with Cejudo will only help him get better, and the knowledge provided by the former two-division champ is coming to play a massive part in the next fight.

What do you make of a fight between Moreno and Cejudo? Do you think Cejudo is planning to fight Moreno in the future? Let us know in the comments!
