Khamzat Chimaev is one of UFC’s biggest prospects in the welterweight division. He has recently burst into stardom after beating former #2 ranked welterweight Gilbert Burns and now climbed up to #3 in the rankings. With more wins comes more competition and beef, as that was the case for Chimaev when he clapped back at fellow contender Jorge Masvidal.

Jorge Masvidal recently went on Logan Paul’s podcast ‘Impaulsive’, in which he commented on the Swedish fighter. One of his remarks struck a nerve in Chimaev, as he later clapped back on the ‘РАЗ НА РАЗ’ podcast.

Chimaev’s original response is in Russian, but The Mac life translates it to Chimaev saying, “I saw Masvidal still saying that I didn’t fight anyone. Who did he fight? How can you say that after getting KO’d stiff? Usman almost sent him to heaven.”

This savage reply got the fans riled up and sparked some drama between the two big shots.

The Ongoing Beef

The two UFC superstars have already started going at each other, making everyone wonder whether they’ll take on one another inside the octagon. Masvidal is coming off a loss to former interim champion Colby Covington and is currently ranked #8, while Chimaev is coming off a big win over Burns.

It would make sense ranking-wise for the two to brawl it out and settle the ongoing beef. This would also be a fan favorite matchup and could potentially sell a lot of pay-per-views (PPVs) and generate massive hype.

Masvidal is known for his superior striking skills. Being a world-class striker, he has always had a problem winning against wrestlers. Khamzat Chimaev being an experienced wrestler, winning a gold medal at the 2016 and 2017 Swedish Freestyle National Championships, will certainly pose a problem for Masvidal if they were ever to fight. This battle between the different styles will be a no-brainer to watch.
