Canadian pop culture icon Drake has gone all-in on the UFC 272 main event featuring a grudge match between former roommates Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal.

Drake has been an MMA aficionado from the start and has been spotted multiple times with UFC superstars. He was the flag-bearer of Irish MMA phenom Conor McGregor when the latter went up against the undefeated Russian champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Now, continuing his love for MMA, the Canadian rapper has put on a whopping wager ($250,000 in Bitcoin) on ‘Gamebred’ to win. Drake himself revealed it via an Instagram story post and ESPN also confirmed the wager via a Twitter post.

The payout for Drake, if Jorge Masvidal wins against Colby Covington, is estimated at a towering $1 million. Although ‘Gamebred’ is the lower-ranked fighter, many fans are backing him to win against national-level wrestling champion ‘Chaos’.

This is because of his powerful striking, coupled with speed originating from his fast-twitch muscle fibers. Even his opponent, Covington, recognizes him for the same.

Jorge Masvidal signed a lucrative deal with the UFC

Jorge Masvidal finalized a massive deal with the UFC that put him on the list of the highest-paid fighters in the promotion’s history.

Masvidal’s agent Malki Kawa confirmed the same on Twitter. He wrote, “New fight contract that makes jorge top 3 highest paid in ufc. Good work team! Thank you @ufc and hunter Campbell specifically for working on this contract with us. #ppvmonster #baseguarantees #top3”

Masvidal’s manager signaled that the BMF, after signing the deal, became the third highest-paid fighter in the UFC. Connecting the dots with Conor McGregor‘s tweet touting Israel Adesanya as the 2nd highest-paid fighter on the roster, ‘Gamebred’ may just be below them on the podium as he plans to conclude his career in the UFC.
