Covington’s antics outside the octagon shouldn’t fool fans into thinking he is just as corny inside the octagon. He means business when he steps into the cage and has a fantastic fighting resume so far in his career.

But he is truly one of a kind when it comes to promoting himself. His rant on the Brazilian crowd after defeating Demian Maia in Brazil is still fresh in every UFC faithful’s memory.

He carries himself in such a way that it’s sometimes hard to support him as a fan. But needless to say, Covington has been successful in establishing himself as the pantomime villain in people’s eyes.

His trash-talking ability is often compared to the legendary Chael Sonnen. The two wrestlers share a close bonding, and Sonnen has always been vocal about how he is a fan of Covington. Covington has certainly taken some notes on how to represent himself on the mic from his predecessor.

Covington vs Masvidal is a fight that every fan wants to watch in 2021. The former best friends cum training partners have developed legitimate beef between them. And there’s no better way for the top 2 welterweights than to settle that inside the octagon.

Both fighters are looking to get another shot at the champion Kamaru Usman after their failed bid to capture the title. Covington is coming off a TKO win over former champion Tyron Woodley and waiting to finalize on his next opponent.
