Conor McGregor recently suffered his second straight loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The trilogy fight came to an anti-climatic end when the Irishman snapped his leg at the end of the first round.

Despite the severity of the injury, Conor McGregor seems to make the best of his time off, focusing on his family and booming business. The 33-year-old recently shared a montage of his fiance, Dee Devlin’s 34th birthday celebration.

Together since 2008, the couple announced their engagement last year on the same date. The two are proud parents of three kids named Conor Jr (4), Croia (2), and three-month-old Rian.

A multi-millionaire who is also Forbes’ highest-paid athlete this year, Conor McGregor has amassed generational wealth over the years. Thanks to his electrifying UFC career and boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, back in 2017.

However, many in the MMA community attribute Conor’s downfall in the octagon to the drastic changes in his lifestyle. A boy who started as a plumber in Ireland, living on stimulation cheques from the government, now spends his spare time cruising around on his private yacht, meeting all kinds of celebrities, leading a life of excess.

While McGregor has rubbished all such claims, stating he is hungrier than ever, his recent performances in the octagon say otherwise. The former double champion has vowed to come back stronger than ever and will hope to find his way back to UFC gold one more time.

Ever since his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, the notorious has lost two out of his three fights. His second bout with Dustin was also the first time we’ve seen him get knocked out in a fight.

All this, coupled with a horrible leg break in his most recent outing, makes it tough to see McGregor returning to his prime form. However, this won’t be the first time McGregor would prove us wrong. He’s shocked the world many times before, and ardent fans will hope he can do the same again.  

According to Dana White, we can expect to see McGregor back in the octagon sometime next year. While the Irishman has been clamoring for a fourth fight with Dustin, another fight that makes sense for McGregor’s return is his trilogy bout with fan favorite, Nate Diaz. Booking the fight will get two birds with one stone. It’ll be his the third fight with Diaz, and an assessment of McGregor’s ability to compete at the highest level.
