Vince Murdock, who recently competed in The Ultimate Fighter 29 semifinal, got an unexpected shout-out. Island Boys, famous for their TikTok videos, put out a video, rapping to UFC President Dana White. In the song, they can be heard hyping up Murdock.

Murdock lost to Brady Hiestand via a first-round KO. He previously appeared in Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 4 and suffered a third-round defeat. Before dropping his last two fights, he was undefeated in his last five fights and was on his way up.

Murdock shared the video made by Island Boys. In the caption, he wrote, “Yo!! My guys @flyysoulja and @kodiyakredd coming through on this cameo, crushed it. Dana White I just wanna be in the UFC.”

Making it in the MMA world has been tough for Murdock. He recently went through surgery to get treatment for a lingering health issue.

Vince Murdock – Struggles through health issues

Vince Murdock’s journey is inspirational. His path to getting a UFC contract has been very difficult. The promotion signed him back in 2019, however; he had to be pulled from his debut fight because of medical issues.

After a few tests, it was revealed that Murdock had moyamoya disease. It is a rare vascular disorder of the arteries of the brain. People with moyamoya disease have narrowing of these blood vessels, which can lead to blood clots.

Murdock got the surgery done in November 2019 and made a comeback in 2020. Since his comeback, he has lost his two fights, but in the eyes of the fans, he already is a winner.

That being said, to get a UFC contract, he would need to show that he’s ready to represent the promotion. He needs to get back to winning ways and needs to impress the matchmakers and Dana White so that they put their money on him.
