At UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Till, fans witnessed an intriguing women’s flyweight bout between Molly McCann and Ji Yeon Kim. The pair left everything they had in this exciting clash, which rightfully so resulted in one of the best fights of this event.
‘Meatball’ McCann was on a two-fight losing streak, while Kim was 1-1 in her last two fights coming into this bout. Thus, both fighters were aiming to put on a dominating performance to come back into the win column.
The pair got what they wanted, a slugfest. In their three rounds of a long-drawn battle, McCann had done enough to catch the eyes of the judges. As a result, ‘Meatball’ McCann emerged victorious via unanimous decision, with all the three judges scoring the contest 29-28 in her favor.

This dominating performance by both fighters resulted in the UFC awarding their bout the ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. It means that both McCann and Kim will receive an extra $50,000 as a bonus for putting up a great show.

In their slugfest, McCann wasted no time and started off as the aggressor in the first round. McCann sprinted across the octagon and landed a big overhand right, and didn’t slow down from there. Then, McCann went for a takedown, where she was unsuccessful.

After a failed takedown attempt, the pair accidentally clashed their heads, resulting in McCann dropping on the canvas. However, Meatball did a good job clinching Kim for the remaining first round after the head clash.

Akin to the first round, McCann was the aggressor right from the start. Meanwhile, Kim settled down at this point and started landing good shots of her own. However, it didn’t slow down McCann as she walked through everything Kim was throwing and landed the biggest shots of the round. The second round ended in McCann, landing a successful takedown.

The last and final third round was an evenly matched round. Both fighters were exhausted at this point. Kim landed some great shots to the body. However, McCann was still walking through Kim, landing more significant strikes.
