Vicente Luque is one of the most promising fighters in the UFC welterweight division. ‘The Silent Assassin’ is currently No.6 in the UFC welterweight rankings and has an MMA record of (21-7). Luque most recently competed against Michael Chiesa at the UFC 265 event and won that fight via a 1st round submission.

Ever since that fight, people from all over the world have been congratulating the fighter. However, there are some people who believe that Luque tapped out to Chiesa earlier in the fight and the referee missed it. Recently, many people were talking about the same on social media.

Comedian and MMA fan Adam hunter took to Twitter to ask people about their views on this issue. He wrote, “Ok, some people are claiming that Luque tapped, but the Ref didn’t see it. I honestly can’t tell, but it doesn’t look like it to me. What do you think?”  

One of the people who Hunter tagged in his tweet was MMA fighter Garry Tonon. ‘The Lion Killer’ replied to the question and shared his views of the incident. He wrote, “I can see why it would look like a tap, but much like a detective, I think it’s important to look at the rest of the scene for clues.”

“At the point in time of the supposed tap, the position itself doesn’t look all that dangerous. Most likely it’s just a frantic hand trying to defend.”

While some people might believe that Luque tapped out in his fight against Chiesa. Tonon is clearly not one of them and he believes that ‘The Silent Assassin’ did nothing of that sort.

Dana White says Vicente Luque is in the title mix now

Following Luque’s victory over Chiesa, many people from all around the world congratulated the fighter. However, the biggest news for the fighter would have been Dana White saying that Luque is now in the title mix.

‘The Silent Assassin’ is bound to rise in the welterweight rankings following his UFC 265 win. Therefore, according to White, if Luque continues this way, we can see him challenging for the title very soon. White even praise Luque and talked about how ‘The Silent Assassin’ is one of the most fun fighters to watch.
