Jones, on multiple occasions, took to Instagram in a bid to post clips and photos of them training at the famous Jackson Wink MMA gym.

Shields is a former 3 weight class boxing champion and former pound for pound #1 in women’s boxing. Jones has been the holder of the pound for pound #1 in MMA for a considerable amount of time now.

He was recently dethroned by Khabib Nurmagomedov after the latter’s impressive win at UFC 254. But to be honest, Jones has been inactive too, in order to prepare himself for his highly anticipated heavyweight debut.

He has also vacated the light heavyweight championship after dominating the division for over a decade.

Jon Jones and Claressa Shields have been training together for a while now

As of now, Jones seems to be enjoying training with Claressa Shields very much. He recently posted a photo on Instagram captioned, ”@claressashields reminded me what it was like to be 25 again, this woman could train all day. Excited about her future.”

Shields also posted on her Instagram clips of her learning from the supposed MMA G.O.A.T i.e. Jon’Bones‘ Jones. “Just adding to my arsenal with the 🐐 @jonnybones 🔥 ! I’m humbled to learn & be taught! Drilled for hours!” said Shields.

Shields will also have former UFC champion Holly Holm, who happens to train at Jackson Wink MMA, for her guidance. Holm, also a former boxing champion, started MMA in 2013 and became a UFC champion.

With such a great team around and due to her past credentials, it seems like the sky is the limit for Shields once she starts her MMA venture. Shields has laid out a plan to compete twice in 2021. Then she also plans to take part in the PFL tournament in 2022.
