UFC 270 was the first UFC pay-per-view of 2022. After having a massively successful 2021, the company was expected to put together a great card. And that’s exactly what they did. The event featured some entertaining fights and two massive title fights. The main event on the night was a heavyweight title clash between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane.

Most of the talk going into the fight was about the bad blood between Ngannou and Gane’s coach, Fernand Lopez. ‘The Predator’ used to train under him, before changing teams. However, after Ngannou retained his title, there was a lovely moment between Lopez and Ngannou’s training partner and welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

Despite the differences, Usman consoled him and said, “A lot of press, a lot of ********. but we’re still all happy for you. We still are, you hear me? We still are. You fought a good fight. This is the sport. This is the sport. That’s it.”

It wasn’t just Usman who Lopez shared a moment with. He shook his former pupil’s hand as well after the fight and they looked eye to eye.

According to Lopez, his new student, Gane, learned a lot from the fight. The fight was challenging in every area and he will improve from it. ‘Bon Gamin‘ lost his first-ever fight in his professional career and will look to bounce back soon. Ngannou, on the other hand, leading up to the fight, suffered a torn MCL and damaged ACL and will undergo surgery in March.

He is currently on the sidelines because of the surgeries he requires. But according to many, his next challenger might already be in front of him. The world wants to see a matchup between him and Jon Jones. Jones has moved up to heavyweight, and the world wants to see them fight. ‘Bones‘ even reacted to the UFC 270 main event, and was not impressed at all.

The Predator‘ has wanted this matchup for a very long time as well. However, he isn’t sure about him actually fighting. While talking to Bruce Buffer, he said, “I think the first thing we have to know is if Jon Jones is going to fight or not. Because actually, he finds himself a better battle on Twitter than in the octagon.”

Jones has been inactive for almost two years now. There is no doubt that he is one of the greatest to ever do it, but nobody is sure if he will be able to find success at heavyweight. To help him with training and transition, he switched his camps to Fight Ready and trains with Henry Cejudo.
