Khamzat Chimaev is one of the hottest prospects in the UFC right now. Presently, ‘Borz’ competes in the welterweight and middleweight division of the promotion. The MMA community identifies the Swedish wrestler for his brutal fighting style and fearless attitude. However, the fierce warrior has an aesthetic side to him. One that stems out of his home country, Russia.
The Sweden-based wrestler is a Russian-born, who calls the Chechen Republic his home. Remarkably, the 27-year-old is well versed in his culture. Recently, a video of Chimaev performing the ‘Lezginka’ folk dance circulated on the internet, a dance form that originates from his country.

What’s ahead for Khamzat Chimaev?
The 27-year-old started 2021 slowly as he dealt with some medical issues. As a result, the welterweight had to pull out of his fight against Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards. However, Chimaev (10-0) bounced back and made an impressive comeback against Li Jingliang. Notably, this win helped Chimaev break into the UFC welterweight rankings where he is currently at No.11. Interestingly, Chimaev has called out almost all the fighters on the roster but no one seems to be interested in taking on ‘Borz’.
Meanwhile, UFC President Dana White has revealed that ranked welterweight fighter Neil Magny is ready to lock horns with Chimaev if need be. Recently, Chimaev got into a Twitter feud with welterweight #5 Belal Muhammad, who is coming off a dominant win against Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson.
