UFC shifted this fight from prelims to the main card
Originally, the UFC had scheduled the fight to feature on the prelims. However, after Alexander Hernandez’s unhappiness with the placement, the UFC moved the fight to the main card. However, instead of Hernandez, the former featherweight capitalized on the opportunity and put on the clinical performance.
I once got bumped from Co-main to FightPass prelims. Instead of complaining, I made it a point to hype up FightPass. I ended up getting a hand written letter from the UFC thanking me and I headlined a card two fights later

Swanson suggested that instead of downplaying the prelims, he promoted the fight such that the fans got excited to see him fight on the UFC Fight Pass.
