Song Yadong is one of the brightest upcoming prospects in UFC. The Chinese fighter went up against a dangerous Julio Arce at UFC Vegas 42.

After a competitive first round, Yadong landed a beautiful head kick early in the second round, which wobbled his opponent. That was the beginning of the end, as Yadong piled on the pressure and finished the fight with a flurry of strikes.

‘The Kung Fu Monkey’ is the number 15 ranked UFC bantamweight, and would want tougher challenges in the future. He is 7-1-1 in his nine UFC fights and is currently on a two-fight win streak.

Arce was coming off an impressive TKO win in his last fight but got slept in this one. He is 3-3 in his last six fights and would want to get some momentum going from his next fight.

Is Song Yadong the next best thing?

There is hype around him for sure. He is a bright prospect and shows great composure in his fights. The MMA community was all praises for the number 15 ranked bantamweight, and that might help in his push for bigger fights.

Journalist Ariel Helwani praised Yadong after his fight. He said, “Song is really good, especially when you consider he’s just 23! Faber loves him.”

The fans were also all praises for ‘The Kung Fu Monkey.’ One fan wrote, “If you don’t like song yadong please block me #UFCVegas42.”

The fans enjoyed watching him fight as well.

Song Yadong is definitely going to get a lot of attention after an impressive TKO like that. Whether or not he is the next big thing is something that everyone will know soon. UFC’s bantamweight division is a stacked one and a lot of exciting fights can be in his future.
