Stephen ‘Wonderboy‘ Thompson, ranked sixth in the UFC’s welterweight division, has shared a video of a previous full-contact kickboxing fight on Instagram. A brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a black belt in American Kempo Karate. He has an undefeated full-contact kickboxing record (57 bouts), with 37 amateur and 20 professional kickboxing matches with a total of 47 knockouts.

Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson -One of the greatest technical fighters in UFC
Thompson made his UFC debut with a knockout of the Night Bonus. At UFC 143, “Wonderboy” had his first fight against Dan Stittgen and head-kicked in the first round and won via KO. At UFC 145 Thompson lost to Matt Brown via unanimous decision, marking his first loss in UFC. He throttled back with a 5-fight win streak with 4-wins coming via KO/TKO.

Eventually securing a main fight event against former UFC Welterweight Champion John Hendricks at UFC Fight Night 82. ‘Wonderboy’ knocked out Hendricks in the first round, dominated by a cross and followed up by a chain of punches.
Thompson finally secured his title shot against then, welterweight champion Tyron Woodley at UFC 205. The match witnessed a five-round battle ending up in a draw, which lead to a rematch at UFC 209.
