Islam Makhachev, the number four ranked UFC lightweight contender, is one of the most dominant fighters in the promotion. He made his UFC debut in 2015. After going 1-1 in his first two UFC fights, Makhachev has gone on a nine-fight winning streak.

His most recent win came against Dan Hooker at UFC 267. Makhachev dominated the fight and submitted ‘The Hangman‘ via a Kimura at 2:25 of the very first round. The Dagestan native looked vicious in the bout.

However, recently, we got to see a softer side of the lightweight combatant. In a video posted by Twitter user Stiopic, we can see Makhachev babysitting a kid inside the gym.

After displaying his gentle side, he will look to continue amazing fans with his fighting when he returns to the octagon next month to extend his undefeated run to 10.

Islam Makhachev will fight Beneil Dariush on February 26

After his stunning first-round victory over Hooker, Makhachev wanted a fight for the title and he demanded the same from the UFC. However, UFC has hinted at the shot going to top-ranked contender Justin Gaethje next.

Hence, the Dagestan native will have to win one more fight before he can earn the lightweight title shot. If he beats Beneil Dariush (#3), he will have a strong claim for the next fight against the champion.

However, Dariush will not be a walk in the park. He beat Tony Ferguson in his last fight and will look to earn his own title shot with a win over the Russian.

Dariush, who made his UFC debut in 2015, has had an amazing career. Currently, on a seven-fight undefeated streak, Dariush is an impressive fighter and can put Makhachev’s ground game to test inside the UFC cage. This clash between two of the best grapplers in UFC is surely going to be a treat for the fans.
