The UFC 282 was one of the most enthralling events of the entire year. MMA fans got a feast of good fights including one of the most controversial decisions of the year. The co-main event of UFC 282 featured a lightweight bout between Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett and Jared ‘Flash’ Gordon. The fight was a very evenly matched-up one, with the fighters having a lot of to-and-fro talks in the pre-fight press conferences. It was also a tough contest inside the Octagon with no fighter showing intentions of any half measures whatsoever. This led to a divide among the opinions of the fans. Some chose the ‘Scouser’ as the victor, while others chose to side with ‘Flash’. The end decision, however, came out in favor of ‘the Liverpudlian’ who snatched victory after the end of three rounds.
This decision left a lot of fans and MMA veterans bewildered. Some noted MMA-related personalities, Ariel Helwani, UFC Lightweight Champion, Islam Makhachev, Dominick Cruz, and a few more criticized the judges awarding the fight to Pimblett. The UFC’s color commentator, Joe Rogan, was so confident about Gordon’s victory that he reportedly assured Gordon that he had won this fight.
