In a new episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, the Spotify podcaster discussed success and the part visualization plays in it. His guest, Ryan Holiday, seemed to have a similar point of view.

In episode #1836, Rogan said, “I’ve had to explain that to many people that want to talk about the secret. You want to talk about the law of attraction like… ‘hey, you’re only hearing from the people that are successful. Like there’s a lot involved. If you want to talk to a successful person, ‘how’d you make it?’ ‘Well, I visualized it and I kept working’.”
Rogan’s guest was of the opinion that the second part is the most important.

Rogan further said, “But it’s also the visualization is an aspect of… You can’t just succeed and make it to the point where you’re running some gigantic business without some sort of a vision. But it doesn’t mean that vision created it.”

“There’s so many people out there that try to manifest something and it never takes place.”

Ryan Holiday continued the discussion by speaking about how thoughts have an influence over our life. He explained how one might not be able to do a particular thing if they believe they can’t do it. Rogan took over to explain the other end of the argument.

He highlighted that if one does believe they can accomplish something, they may or may not depend on other factors.

Rogan gave an interesting example to explain his point.

He said, “Like, if you visualize yourself beating Mike Tyson, he’s still going to f**k you up.”

Holiday agreed with Rogan. He went on to say that visualizing can work, barring unforeseen circumstances. Thus, both believe visualization can work wonders, but not without effort and action.

Both the personalities further talked about how Holiday’s book did well over time and the kind of work that went behind the book.
