UFC light heavyweight contender Johnny Walker has made his goals clear. He had an impressive showing at UFC 283 after a TKO win over Paul Craig. But Walker has made his intentions clear that he wants to become a double champion in the promotion. However, former double champion Daniel Cormier has warned Johnny Walker about his UFC dream. Walker was inspired by Daniel Cormier, who won the light heavyweight and the heavyweight title in UFC. “I want to be on his [Cormier’s] level someday,” said Walker at the post-fight press conference of UFC 283. He mentioned that he was working on his wrestling skills and wanted to reach the same heights as ‘DC’.

Daniel Cormier shares his thoughts on Johnny Walker’s ‘Tom Brady’ dream

Daniel Cormier claims that being a double champion is a fairytale dream, or as he put it – a ‘Tom Brady’ dream. DC shared his opinion on how it is hard to become even the UFC champion in one division, let alone multiple divisions. “It’s really hard just to be the UFC champion, much less than double champion,” said DC. He added, “That’s why so few people have done it.” However, he does mention that every fighter should aim to become a double champion. He said, “Everybody should strive to be a double champion. It is just extremely hard to do.”

Daniel Cormier also stated that winning two championships and conquering two divisions in the UFC is like NFL legend Tom Brady winning 7 Superbowls. “It’s like saying, ‘I wanna win the Superbowl or I wanna be like Tom Brady – win 7 Superbowls!!! … It’s just really really hard to do,” said the former UFC champion.
