Many fighters have unique pre-UFC stories. The former two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson is no different. ‘Wonderboy’ recently revealed a chilling story about him beating up an opponent after some events. The story dates back a couple of decades, so the video he shared was a bit blur. Nonetheless, Thompson described the incident to guide the viewers through it.

On his official YouTube channel, Thompson posted a video inside which he had a clip from one of his first kickboxing fights. The fight happened around the year 2000, when the welterweight striker was only 16 and was in high school. Besides, he was a featherweight (145 lbs).
Thompson shared the story behind the fight and said, “In this particular fight, I’m fighting a guy named J.R. Bernard… This guy was a very cocky fighter.”

The kickboxer shared how his opponent had beaten his father’s instructor in an ‘unrespectful’ way. Further, he added his opponent was showboating after beating the 50-year-old instructor. Although, he mentioned his opponent presently has become a good person.

Thompson added, “My sister was talking to him a little bit. Like, talking-talking him a little bit, I think, leading up to the fight. So, this is another reason I had to go all out on this guy.”

The 39-year-old described how that fight still gives him goosebumps as he goes into a different mindset rewatching it. Talking about the fight, he added, “I was relentless, non-stop after this guy.”

The UFC athlete then commentated on his fight as he was watching the old clip of him going berserk on his opponent. Although he has a nicer side to him as well.
