Alex Pereira has had a fantastic rise from a kickboxer to the light heavyweight UFC champion. Under his umbrella, it looks like his children too are growing in a similar direction. In a very recent video, Pereira’s son can be seen going hard in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu bout and it ended in an interesting fashion.
Pereira has always been a man of a few words. And yet, his interviews and videos are as entertaining as they could get. How could his children lag behind? Apart from the pranking and joking around with their dad, clearly they’ve also picked up some skills. Here’s the whole story.

Pereira’s son, a fighter in the making
Alex Pereira is perhaps one of the most elite strikers in the UFC right now. However, it looks like his son has taken a liking to grappling and BJJ instead. In a fresh new video, his son can be seen dominating his opponent on the ground. And before you can blink an eye, it’s all over.
He gets into a brilliant rare naked choke position and makes his opponent submit within moments. Quite a grappler at a young age. Pereira’s son may as well make a name for himself in the battle sport. He clearly already has the genetics and the preparations it would take.
Meanwhile, Alex Pereira is taking it slow after winning the light heavyweight title. He defeated Jiri Prochazka in a very substantial matchup. A knockout that earned him the title. So, does he have an opponent in mind?

“Adesanya, come to daddy” Alex Pereira announced in English as he ended his post-fight interview after winning the belt. The Brazilian doesn’t say a lot but when he does, it cuts just as harshly as his strikes. Will Israel Adesanya move up to light heavyweight to challenge him? He’s clearly had it out with him and his sons before.

An old rivalry: Alex Pereira and ‘Izzy’
Perhaps Israel Adesanya never quite got over the moment that Pereira’s son created back in their kickboxing days. Once ‘Izzy’ got knocked out in the ring, Pereira’s son mocked his fall to the mat in a now-viral video. So when Adesanya did the same to Pereira in the UFC, of course, he mocked his son by doing the same.

Even years later, their rivalry is as fresh as it was when it started. Adesanya even teased a fight between him and Pereira for the light heavyweight title once through his Instagram. Alas, it was nothing more than a prank. When will Adesanya return? And will it be against Pereira? Perhaps there is no end to this rivalry; maybe that’s what keeps it exciting.
