An angry Dagestani retaliated to UFC superstar Conor McGregor by throwing a bottle at him during a press conference. This came after the Irishman’s remarks about his home region, which he shares with Russian MMA phenom Khabib Nurmagomedov.

‘The Notorious’ has remained a polarizing figure in the entirety of his UFC career, and this is because he has a penchant for trash-talking. And sometimes he tends to cross all limits. The same happened after his humiliating loss against his arch-rival ‘The Eagle’, who finished him back in 2018, in a record-breaking fight.

Habitually, McGregor went on to slander his rival and it reached a point where he was carelessly disrespecting Dagestan, Nurmagomedov‘s home. However, another Dagestani native wasn’t taking any of it and decided to take matters into his own hands when he met McGregor in Russia.

He asked McGregor, “All people, my father, my brother, you think are coward? Why coward? What do to you?”

To which, the Irishman replied, “Yes, yes,” and this was the boiling point for the Russian, who hurled a water bottle at McGregor.

The Dagestani wanted a clarification still. So, he asked McGregor again as he was being escorted outside, “My father? What do to you? Why my brother? What do to you?”

However, ‘The Notorious’ had a sinister reply for that as well. “Shut up, you fool!” McGregor answered.

What did Conor McGregor say about Khabib Nurmagomedov after UFC 229?

Although fighters generally relinquish their enmity after their fights, this is not something that goes with the Irishman.

Conor McGregor, even after losing to ‘The Eagle’ at UFC 229, did not want their enmity to stop. In fact, he wanted an immediate rematch and when he was denied the same, ‘The Notorious’ went all out.

“I have never seen the man represent Russia in my life. Have you ever seen the man raise a Russian flag like I raise the Irish flag, with pride? I have never seen it once in my life. He is running from the bout in Moscow,” McGregor said.”

“The public want it, the people want it, his own father wants it. He does not want it, he wants to bring a man down to a weight he has never competed at before, even though he himself has almost died making that weight. He is afraid of risk.”
