Conor McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos were involved in a heated verbal altercation backstage after the UFC 264 weigh-ins. In the sixth episode of the vlog: UFC 264 Embedded, both the athletes almost got physical with each other before the security separated them.

There is animosity between both McGregor and ‘RDA’, who were supposed to collide at UFC 196. However, as Dos Anjos broke his ankle, Nate Diaz stepped up to replace him.

The Brazilian, who was the stand-in for the main event, also weighed in at 156 pounds at the weigh-ins. Had Poirier missed weight, Dos Anjos would have stepped inside the octagon tonight. However, as ‘The Diamond’ weighed successfully in at 156 pounds, Dos Anjos has to wait a bit more to get his hands on the Irishman.

Soon after the altercation, dos Anjos turned to Twitter to call out McGregor a “snake” for sneaking from behind to get the shot at him.

He also hinted at a possible fight in the future with ‘The Notorious’.

Rafael dos Anjos still wants to fight Conor McGregor

It’s no secret that dos Anjos wants to face McGregor. He has expressed this feeling multiple times before. In an interview with MMA Junkie earlier this year, dos Anjos said that Conor McGregor would be a perfect opponent for him to challenge.

“I think I’m a very bad matchup for Conor. Especially for my style, my kicks and southpaw stance, my grappling skills, my wrestling skills. But that’s something that passed already. With the results of his last fights, I think our paths can cross again, but there’s so many options right now in that division.”
