The 25-year-old Ian Garry has turned many heads towards him in a brief time. ‘The Future’ made sure that he captured the attention of people with his very first clash at UFC. Garry’s debut fight was against Jordan Williams at UFC 268. The young Irish fighter won the fight via knockout in the very first round itself.

At the moment, the undefeated fighter is getting ready to square off at UFC 285 in the early prelims against Kenan Song. ‘The Future’ has on several occasions mentioned his admiration for his fellow countryman, Conor McGregor. After stepping into the UFC, Garry was able to reach out to his icon easily. Recently, the two crossed paths at the UFC 285 backstage.

In a viral video posted by MMA orbit, Ian Garry was seen meeting ‘The Notorious’. They both exchanged warm hugs, and McGregor motivated the young fighter to win against Kenan Song. The Irish superstar came with his entire family, which included his fiancee, Dee Devlin, and kids. After talking with the Irishman, ‘The Future’ made sure that he went to his eldest son first and played with him for a while. Soon afterward, he exchanged greetings with Dee Devlin and the other two kids.

Fans mentioned that the video was so wholesome, and it made them love Garry a little more for his respect for his icon and his family. The video is also proof that the young fighter is so level-headed and that his previous victories have not overpowered his humility.

What’s in store for ‘The Future’?

Within a very short period, the welterweight has proven that he has a great future in the UFC. Garry has won all three matches he has fought in the UFC. However, his love and admiration for the former champ-champ dates back to his childhood. The young Irish fighter’s current aim is to become the new Conor McGregor. To achieve the same, he is looking forward to fighting worthy opponents who can take him to the belt.

If the 25-year-old became successful in beating Song, he would reach a lot closer to his dream. The cage-fighting champion has already called out the strongest fighters, like Bryan Barberena, for a bout. However, the bout never came to fruition till now. At the moment, the fans have to wait a few more hours to find out if Ian Garry will remain the undefeated fighter.
