Derrick Lewis against Marcos Rogerio De Lima at UFC 291 was a much anticipated fight. The newly added six-pack abs by Derrick Lewis and perhaps the power that came along with it were on full show at UFC 291. Lewis also gave fans something that was totally unexpected.  The talk leading up to the fight had revolved around the former title challenger Lewis’s weight cut for the fight.  And ‘The Black Beast’ soon demonstrated the benefits of his weight loss inside the Octagon right from the word go. Lewis defeated the Brazilian warrior via TKO in the first round itself. The attack was eerily similar to the one displayed by  Jorge Masvidal in his fight against Ben Askren.

Surprisingly, ‘The Black Beast’ previously revealed that he had a near-death experience while preparing for the fight and cutting weight. Although there were some fans who had derided the weight-cut efforts of the fighter, his victory and mesmerizing performance have now silenced his critics and won him new fans.
