One of the greatest marquee matches that happened in the combat sports world was between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. The two legends from different worlds came together to set the cage on fire. The match between the two superstars is widely called ‘The Money Fight’ and ‘The Biggest Fight in Combat Sports History’. Mayweather and the Irishman locked horns when the American boxer was the undefeated 11-time five-division boxing world champion, while the Irishman was the reigning lightweight champion.

When the two great fighters clashed against each other, the roof of the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, was blown off. The bout took place back in 2017, and fans still talk about it as one of the greatest matchups in the history of combat sports. The bout was a twelve-round battle in the light middleweight division. Among the many celebrities who witnessed the bout was Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx. Foxx gave a hilarious reaction to McGregor in the Irish accent soon after the match.

Celebrities like Jamie Foxx loved watching the match and gave a funny reaction to one of the greatest matches. ‘The Soloist’ actor said in an Irish accent, “Conor McGregor? C’mon man, you know what happened. Hey, man, I’m just happy to be here.” Foxx was clearly pulling the legs of the Irish superstar.

The possibility of a rematch

After the huge success of the bout, combat sports lovers wanted a rematch between the two. Back in 2022, when Mayweather was talking to the Daily Mail, he even confirmed that the rematch between the two would take place in 2023. However, at the moment, it is quite doubtful whether the rematch will take place or not.
