Will Smith has become the talk of the town after the Chris Rock slap controversy at the Oscars 2022. Being a celebrity propels you to the limelight, but this isn’t Will Smith’s first brush with attention. Once Joe Rogan dismissed an interesting story about Will Smith on his podcast- The Joe Rogan Experience.
Interestingly, the podcast guest, who was sharing the story, was none other than Chris Rock’s younger brother Tony Rock. He was telling Rogan about bungee jumping and he brought up Will Smith’s 50th birthday plan. The actor-cum-comedian told Rogan that Smith would be bungee jumping from a helicopter over the Grand Canyon to “conquer his fears.”

As Rock shared the idea, he looked very excited and impressed. However, Rogan straight away binned it by calling it a “terrible idea.” Instead, he hijacked the topic and shared a bungee jumping story from his time as the host of Fear Factor.
Rogan said, “That seems like a terrible idea. We did a bunch of that kind of sh*t on Fear Factor, man. We did it in the last season… we did a couple of them that really had me freaked out, but one of them they hooked people up to these bungee chords and they had them tied to like a post or something or a tree or something… They were shackled, think was a post.”
He explained the ridiculous stunt to Rock, who sat there wondering who plans these stunts. “And the person had to release them. Well, I figure out which key goes into which lock and it was like a race to do it and as soon as you released them, they shot through the air because there was a helicopter holding on to a bungee cord behind him. And they were just dangling over this canyon, like bouncing up and down.”
Rogan told Rock that he was taken aback when he saw the test jump and essentially got scared of the idea. He said, “I watched the first one like they did a test one. And I watched it and I was like [breathes heavily]… yeah I mean they know what they’re doing. I guess they know what they’re doing. These guys are professional stunt guys, but I was like I would not want to be that person attached to that bungee cord.”
