The UFC is the biggest MMA promotion in the world; It is one of the major promotions, regardless of the sport. However, compared to other sports, the UFC pays their fighters drastically less. Thus, many fighters, fans, and experts have raised their voices for the fighters to get more money, including the UFC veteran commentator, Joe Rogan.

On the JRE podcast with Andrew Schulz, Rogan discussed the issue around fighters’ pay.

He said, “I think they should get paid more. I think everybody should get paid more. I think it’s a crazy way to make a living, I think, you should get the most amount of money you can possibly get. But it’s also a business. And I think that if they are struggling as much as I think they are. I don’t talk finances with them, but I know that WME, people who own it, they are hurt, bad.”

“But you know when it comes to me, as a, as a human that likes fighting. I, I know how f**king dangerous that sh*t is. You should get paid an incredibly generous amount of money to step into a cage fight for millions of people to see.”

The long-term UFC commentator knows the ins and outs of the sport. Thus, he understands that the fighters should get more money for putting their lives on the line.

Joe Rogan hints more promotions can improve the issue

The former Fear Factor host pointed out that the fighters have very few options to explore outside the UFC. Thus, they stick with the UFC, even if they are not happy with their contracts. To solve the issue, Rogan offered it would require other promotions to be set up, so the fighters have more options.

The fighter’s pay has been a glancing issue for quite a while. However, recently, more people are raising their voices towards it. Though, it would require more than just Jake Paul and Francis Ngannou to resolve the issue.
