For a fight to be successful, along with skilled fighters, it also takes some hype. Although, while creating such hype, fighters often make accusations. In a similar way, after his recent win at UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Vieira, Michel Pereira made an accusation against Jorge Masvidal. ‘Gamebred’ took to his Twitter to reply to the same.

Masvidal wrote on Twitter, “How crazy a world and how far has society fallen that this idiot @UfcPereira would use his wife to hopefully 1 day get a paycheck and create a fake narrative to try and get a fight with me when clearly he sees she slid in my dm? Wishing you guys the best #marriagecounselor”

It may seem to one as if Jorge Masvidal has channeled his inner Conor McGregor, as there is a similar instance where McGregor leaked his DMs with Dustin Poirier’s wife in the buildup to their fight.

This statement by Masvidal comes after Pereira’s accusations on him. ‘Demolidor’ in his post fight media scrum said, “He (Jorge Masvidal) sent an emoji to my wife.

He further said, “The folded hand emoji…He sent it to my wife and didn’t send it to me. I never actually crossed paths with him, never had the chance to ask him, so I figured I really want to understand, but might as well understand inside the octagon.”

Jorge Masvidal – Every Professional Record and Stat

While Masvidal cleared the air on this claim, fans of ‘Gamebred’ are waiting for his return to the octagon. Recently, the BMF champion also had an exchange with a prospect opponent on Social Media.

What is next for Jorge Masvidal?

Since his loss at UFC 272 against arch-rival Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal is yet to be seen in the octagon. Although Masvidal knocked Colby down and had his moments, Covington largely dominated the fight.

While there have been speculations of his return, a fixed date, time, or opponent has not been provided by either the fighter or the promotion. While Masvidal has a lot of options available to fight, he recently had a run-in on social media with one.

Masvidal recently had an exchange with fellow welterweight contender Gilbert Burns. ‘Durinho’ on his Twitter posted an image of him and Masvidal. He captioned the image with eye emojis and tagged Jorge Masvidal in the same.

Jorge Masvidal was quick to notice this call-out by Burns. He replied to the post saying that this fight sounds good to him and he would see to it.

Following Masvidal’s tweet, Burns replied in another tweet said that he knows Masvidal wants to get his wrestling skills up. ‘Durinho’ told Masvidal to do it while he takes care of his business and once it’s done, they could fight later this year.
