The UFC is fast heading towards the culmination of one of the most personal rivalries in the promotion’s history. Jorge Masvidal versus Colby Covington became the talk of the town as soon as UFC announced it as the UFC 272 headliner.

Just a month ahead of the highly anticipated collision, ‘Gamebred’ released a snippet of what was to come for ‘Chaos’ as Masvidal began his exposé.

In this trailer, an earlier version of Covington was heard saying good things about his ‘Best Friend’ Masvidal. “Jorge [Masvidal] is my best friend, like he’s the only exception. I don’t got any other friends. Jorge is like my only friend, man. If you knew the stuff we’d been through.”

Masvidal fulfilled his promise as he released a video montage of Covington where he is seen breaking character, falling short of promises, and exposing his behavior as something he made to ‘sell’ fights.

Masvidal’s video also contained interviews of various UFC fighters such as Jon Jones, Ben Askren, Joanna Jedrzejczyk. They shared their not-so-good opinions on Covington. At last, it featured an interview of Masvidal where he was heard saying, “We Never Had A Friendship.”

The video’s real purpose was to assert that Covington was the ‘Real Street Judas’ (a nickname Covington gave to Masvidal because of his appearance) and not ‘Gamebred’.

How are Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal faring at the UFC?

Both welterweight superstars have been on the rise since 2017. While Covington was able to clinch the interim title for the UFC welterweight division, Masvidal found success in the ‘BMF’ title bout against Nate Diaz.

Both men have title ambitions and a win for either will give them a huge boost in the rankings. While a Colby win will help him remain on top, a win for ‘Gamebred’ will see him potentially become the top-ranked welterweight.
