UFC Welterweight Jorge Masvidal is one of the most talked-about fighters in the sport today, and it’s easy to see why. ‘Gamebred’ has a massive social media presence, and receiving a shout-out from the President certainly helps matters. Not to mention, Jorge’s scrapper mentality and approach to the fight game keep fans wanting to see him compete more often.

The former Miami street fighter recently spoke out in support of President Donald Trump ahead of the Presidential election. Jorge’s endorsement sat well with the ardent Trump supporters, and Donald Trump was quick to show his appreciation. The two have been long-time supporters of each other, and Trump’s visibility in MMA continues to grow with his association with the UFC. The promotion’s President, Dana White, Colby Covington, and Jorge Masvidal have all provided their co-sign.

Jorge Masvidal: The fan-favorite BMF

A twitter user replied to Jorge Masvidal and Donald Trump and shared a video grab that is greatly endeared by Masvidal’s fan base. The clip sees Jorge Masvidal candidly talk about the association he has with his father. The fighter’s heartfelt words that came out on father’s day last year showed a different side to the near 50-fight veteran.

What’s more, Jorge Masvidal also showed his patriotic side with his response to his father’s claim that he’s Cuban. Jorge corrected his father by saying he was an American, truly capturing his red, white, and blue spirit. His endorsement of the sitting President of the United States has brought about more attention for the 2019 fighter of the year.

Although 2020 hasn’t been as fruitful for Masvidal as 2019 was, he remains a bonafide star in the company. His title fight opportunity at UFC 251 against Kamaru Usman was a smash hit for the promotion. Additionally, his appeal spills outside the MMA landscape and enters into the mainstream.

Jorge Masvidal will certainly be in another massive fight when he returns to action. ‘Gamebred’ was most recently targeted to rematch Nate Diaz following the success of their previous outing at UFC 244. However, the fight fell through and he remains without a fight as it currently stands.
