Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson was one fantasy fight for the UFC fans that was always on the papers. But never saw the light of the octagon. This fight never came to fruition because either of the fighters pulled out because of several reasons.

Once, when the arch-rivals were set to collide against each other on the main card of UFC 209, ‘The Eagle’ faced difficulties cutting the weight. Hence, the doctors advised him to pull out of the fight a day before the official weigh-ins.

After Nurmagomedov’s back out from the fight, rumors about him eating a tiramisu cake before the weigh-ins spread among the fight fans. However, the Dagestan native dealt with the rumors in a very sarcastic way.

During one of his media appearances with best friend, Daniel Cormier on Fox Sports News, Nurmagomedov said, “Daniel like pancakes. But I want to try this one because I never tried tiramisu.”

“I wanna try this one, but after the fight. I don’t know people talk about this but I never tried this. My friends eat this with me, but people think I eat this,” Khabib Nurmagomedov concluded.

Although ‘The Eagle’ retired from professional fighting, ‘El Cucuy’ never leaves a chance to take a dig on his old opponent. He frequently trolls and also calls out the former lightweight champion.

However, the Dagestan native seems unfazed by the tweets. He is currently working on his other business, including his own MMA venture, after retiring. Meanwhile, Ferguson is still in the fight game and is set to return against the former title challenger, Michael Chandler, at UFC 274.

As aforementioned, the Russian undefeated fighter has retired from fighting. And has never shown any interest in returning to the octagon, even though he was offered heavy money. Hence, the fantasy fight Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson might never happen.
