WATCH: Khabib Nurmagomedov, Famous for Mauling Bears in His Childhood, Gets Scared by a Stray Cat

The mixed martial arts world has never seen anyone of the likes of legendary Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov. He has never lost a fight, never lost one round, and has been at the top of the sport. In addition to this, he has even wrestled a bear at a young age, which helped him prepare for his legendary run. Despite facing the who’s who of the lightweight division, there is still something that the UFC fighter has yet to face.

In a recent Instagram post, taken from the Nurmagomedov’s protégé and top-ranked UFC fighter, Islam Makachev. The world got to see a side of him that no one ever expected. Apparently, all it takes to strike fear in his heart is a domesticated cat, as the Nurmagomedov can be seen scared of the animal.

Khabib Nurmagomedov demands the UFC to grant his protégé the next title shot

According to a report by Mirror, the former UFC champion is batting for his long-time training partner, Islam Makachev, to get the winner of Justin Gaethje vs Charles Oliveira. Makachev is on an impressive 10-fight win streak since his lone loss in 2015. With the likes of Dan Hooker, Bobby Green, Drew Dober, and more on his resume. Currently ranked at number 3 in the lightweight, just a few steps short away.

He said, “I’m really focused on Islam fighting the winner of Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje, end of this year,” he continued, “Make a very big show in Abu Dhabi. This place, Islam going to fight for the title.”

Nurmagomedov is positive that a win-streak of this caliber needs to be rewarded adequately. However, it is also true that Makhachev is yet to face a top-ranked opponent. He was previously slated to face fellow lightweight contender, Beniel Dariush, but the fight fell. As per reports in MMA Junkie, UFC president, Dana White wants to book this fight once again.

He said, “I love the Dariush fight.” He continued, “Since he turned down this fight we’re going to remake the Dariush fight. Dying to see that fight. And then (if) he gets through Dariush, it’s very interesting.”
