However, the Irishman took to Twitter to congratulate Khalil Rountree on his win and the technique to knock his opponent out. The light heavyweight bagged the win over Karl Roberson with a second-round knockout.

Rountree posted a video of him celebrating Conor McGregor’s shout-out. Ecstatic about it, Rountree also celebrated the shout-out with a drink of Proper 12, McGregor’s Irish Whiskey. 

This shows that the athlete went the extra mile to celebrate McGregor‘s shout-out with the Irishman’s whiskey.

Khalil Rountree and Conor McGregor: Mutual Respect 

The two showered mutual respect over each other in their own way. McGregor posted a tweet initially on his official Twitter account, to which Rountree reacted. The light heavyweight stated that it “means the world” for him, that the ‘Notorious’ appreciated his skill.

McGregor clearly means that Rountree is one of the most refreshing fighters to see in the UFC. Notably, his soccer kick on his opponent was viewed with high praise from the Irishman.

Khalil Ibn Rountree Jr. is an American mixed martial artist signed to the UFC in the Light heavyweight division. He lost in his promotional debut on July 8, 2016, via unanimous decision.

After two wins via knockout in the first round, Rountree’s loss against Michał Oleksiejczuk was overturned to a ‘No Contest.’

After a series of wins and losses alternatively, Rountree won the fight against Modestas Bukauskas, making history for finishing a fighter with an oblique kick for the first time. 

His latest fight was against Karl Roberson at UFC Vegas: 50, which he won via a body kick and a finish on the ground. Furthermore, it also earned him the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus, alongside McGregor’s Twitter praise.
